Yesterday, as I was cleaning my room, I came upon a bag of stuff from my freshmen year dorm room. Included in the bag were some post-it notes from friends, a key chain, and my tech bible. I haven't looked at my tech bible in years, but freshman year I read the book cover to cover.

The Tech Bible was first published in 1897,and served as a student handbook for freshmen. Along with WPI history and rules for the freshmen, it included information about life on campus and in the Worcester community. In the early '90s, the Student Alumni Society issued it with a new purpose: to include not only WPI history, but its traditions, and the growth and flourishing of the institution. The most recent edition was published in 2003.

If you come to WPI the tech bible is one of the many things you will receive during freshmen orientation. It's an important tradition that helps introduce the new students to what WPI is all about.
