Undecided is one of the most popular major for freshmen students, whether that is undecided, engineering undecided or science undecided. The reason that I bring this up is that at WPI, that's absolutely fine. We don't ask our students to declare a major until the second half of their freshmen year, and even then a good portion of our students will change their major at least once.
Since undecided is such a popular major, our Career Development Center has developed the 'Major Exploration Series'. It's basically a seminar that meets once a week to discuss different majors. It covers the classes taken by students as well as the career opportunities after graduation.
Luckily for all the students attending the Major Exploration Series seminar tomorrow, I'll be one of the people speaking on behalf of the math department.
